TheAssociation Announcements: March 2024
Dear TheAssociation Community,
It’s hard to believe that roughly six months ago, we embarked on this incredible journey together.
When we launched TheAssociation in October 2023, we had a bold vision: to create a global community of AI practitioners dedicated to driving responsible innovation and AI and shaping the future of our fields. Today, I’m proud to say that we’re well on our way to making that vision a reality.
At the heart of TheAssociation’s mission is a commitment to support you: the talented, passionate professionals who are working every day to unlock the potential of AI while also navigating its complex challenges.
We believe that by fostering collaboration, sharing knowledge, and building community, we can collectively chart a path toward a more quality, ethical, impactful, and sustainable AI landscape.
Key Accomplishments
I’m thrilled to report that in just six short months, we’ve made tremendous strides toward our goals. Some of our key accomplishments include:
- Launching our MVP platform, which provides a safe and neutral space for practitioners to collaborate, learn and network. We’ve seen incredible engagement and enthusiasm from our members, with 1,600+ discussions, eight events, and 1,200+ connections made to date.
- Growing our membership by an astounding 519%, demonstrating the strong demand for TheAssociation’s vision, programs and resources. We are strong, and growing day over day.
- Introduced the Beyond Binary podcast, TheAssociation Perspectives newsletter, and other content initiatives that showcase member thought-leadership, events, and topics to drive meaningful conversations around the most pressing issues in AI.
- Established the Ethics & Policy Advisory Board and our first working group focused on driving clear, technical, implementation frameworks and requirements for Ethical AI in Healthcare. We plan to bridge industries, and geographies – to do this we need YOU. Two voices are always stronger than one. If you are a professional organization in healthcare, a provider, OEM, university, or tech vendor in healthcare we welcome you to the table.
Navigating the Regulatory Landscape
One of the biggest challenges facing AI practitioners today is the balance of innovation, and trust. There is a patchwork of regulations and guidelines across different jurisdictions. We know that navigating this complex landscape can be daunting, which is why TheAssociation is committed to bridging the gap between regulators, technology providers, and practitioners.
We’re excited to announce a new partnership with Schellman, one of the world’s leading compliance attestation providers. Through this collaboration, we’ll be working to streamline regulation, compliance and attestation processes for our members and sponsors providing clear, actionable guidance on how to operationalize AI governance and to ensure adherence to emerging standards in a more agile, extensible, and scalable way.
The Power of Community
At TheAssociation, we believe that the power of community is key to driving progress and innovation in AI. That’s why we’re constantly working to enhance our platform and to provide new opportunities for members to connect, collaborate, and learn from one another. In the coming months, you can look forward to the launch of our v1 education marketplace, live news feed, and dedicated content publication channel, all designed to empower you to share your knowledge, showcase your thought-leadership, and stay at the forefront of the latest developments in AI.
We’re also introducing self-service capabilities that will allow you to contribute content, lead discussions, and to organize events directly through our platform. We will be that by putting the power in your hands, we can create a truly vibrant, member-driven community. We want each member to feel welcomed, learn, get value and to be an advocate for our efforts.
Looking Ahead
- TheAssociation Application which will provide a seamless, integrated experience for members to connect, and collaborate.
- The publication of technical implementation standards by our Ethics & Policy Council, providing clear, actionable guidance for responsible AI development, deployment and operations.
- The launch of TheAssociation Research, a practitioner-driven think tank that will shape the future of AI through groundbreaking insights, trends and forward-thinking strategy and thought-leadership.
- The introduction of TheAssociation Lab, a platform for members to pursue their entrepreneurial aspirations and bring innovative AI, Data, Ethics, Privacy, Robotics and Security solutions to life – with the support of a network of advisors, incubation services and VCs.
We will be announcing several exciting new partnerships across the business professional, regulation and government, content publication and tech vendors space soon. So stay tuned for more details!
