Introduction
And in a blink of an eye, we are nearly through January. Happy New Year to the AI village!
Here we are, adding a touch of warmth to your feed with our first newsletter of 2024. Think of it as your steaming hot cup of coffee (or tea!) to jumpstart your Friday eve. ☕
Take a sip of this AI and Data brew with a splash of Governance, and finish with our special blend of the month: insights, reflections, and aspirations for the new year from our CEO.
Here’s to a tasteful, fresh start. ☀️
About This Month’s Edition
We’re kicking off this newsletter with Greg Anderson as he writes about the critical importance of proper data management in AI.
Kristen Marshall Talley scratches the surface as she starts a new series on how AI is perceived in business-to-consumer (B2C) and business-to-business (B2B) marketing and the understanding of its implications.
We also have David Kuhl‘s piece on AI’s transformative impact in the workplace.
Lastly, how can we start the year correctly without a word from our founder? We have TheAssociation.AI and Culstrata-ai CEO Wendy Turner-Williams and her thoughts and plans as we embark on the year ahead (lots of exciting stuff!).

Thought Leadership Corner
Data Management in an AI World
The recent popularity of artificial intelligence (AI) and artificial general intelligence (AGI) processes requires an incredible amount of data for proper management. Data architects need to pay attention to the data being used to train AI processes, notably in ML and AGI development.
Proper data management requires the establishment of rules, policies, and standards to ensure the responsible use of data in AI technologies. As these technologies continue to evolve and integrate into various sectors, the need for robust data management becomes increasingly significant to address ethical, legal, and technical considerations.
From Hype to Impact: Redefining AI for a Human-Centered Future
Artificial intelligence (AI) is the buzzword of the century, infiltrating everything from smartphones to self-driving cars. But amidst the hype, a curious discrepancy emerges: the gap between what AI actually does and how people perceive it. As product marketers take up the flag of AI’s technological advancements, the question of perception becomes more pointed. Do your customers know what AI is? Do you know how they feel about using AI in their daily lives?
Unleashing the Power of AI in the Workplace
By David Kuhl
In recent years, both leaders and employees have faced significant changes. They have adapted to evolving work strategies, such as remote and hybrid work models, as well as changing generational preferences and, recently, the acceptance of fractional leadership. However, all of these changes pale in comparison to the transformative impact AI. AI is reshaping the way we work, fundamentally redefining our approach to tasks, processes and how we become more productive.
Words From Our CEO
Updates from Wendy Turner-Williams
Hello Members, Partners, Sponsors, and Potential Members!
As we all embark on a new year, it will be a pivotal year for TheAssociation.
Our mission remains steadfast: to forge a safe, neutral platform for the AI implementers – the #AIDeputies who have their hands on the literal keyboards are at the forefront of this change.
A Dire Need for TheAssociation
The disconnect between data, technology, and policy is evident. The recent debacles in Social Media Hill hearings have laid bare a glaring truth: regulators grapple with understanding technology’s nuances and have even less awareness of data.
This gap was further highlighted by the US Executive Order focusing on NIST’s steps, primarily in cybersecurity, while overlooking the broader AI spectrum of bias, ethics, or quality.
This scenario underscores the urgent need for a civic, neutral entity like TheAssociation to bridge the silos of data, privacy, and security, focusing on end-to-end design, development, governance, and lifecycle operations implementation standards.
